We take the best of weightlifting, body weight workouts, and high-intensity cardio and mix it all into one program. It is fun, you can do it, and most importantly, it works.

We also are obsessed with making new friends. You’ll never be a random stranger at CrossFit Basinview. We are full of fun, welcoming, and friendly people of all ability levels. Working out just wouldn’t be the same without a built-in friend group cheering you on.

Well… Congratulations! You took the first step to create the best version of yourself! It doesn’t matter what brought you here: a friend’s recommendation, your personal fitness goal or doctor’s recommendation, or maybe the bikini you bought the other day…regardless, welcome to CrossFit Basinview!

The very first thing you will discover is that CrossFit is designed for anyone at any fitness level. Whether you are 60 years old or have just completed your 10th marathon, whether walking the dog is the only exercise you’ve had in years, or you’re someone training for the Blue Nose Marathon… CrossFit Basinview will help you achieve your fitness goals (weight loss, toning, strength, muscle gain, athletic performance, or simply look and feel good).

We start all new athletes with a FREE Intro Consultation with one of our coaches so that we can get to know you, learn about your athletic background, discuss your unique goals and get you set up for the best possible path to success. By the end of this session, you will know exactly what you need to do to get maximum results from your training.


How to Get Started

Experienced CrossFit Athlete?

If you have completed the Foundation Class for beginners, if you’re an experienced CrossFit athlete, or if you are visiting Bedford, Halifax, Nova Scotia and want to drop in, then you are ready to join regular classes.

We offer a 4,000-square-foot space — an official Rogue-equipped facility. Also, hands-on attention from our amazing coaches, challenging programming, free parking, a welcoming and strong community, and wimpy prices set the stage to take your training to the next level. You bring your determination to succeed, and we’ll provide the rest.

3 simple-steps to get you started

  1. TRY: Experience CrossFit with us for free and what we have to offer. Come check out the facility.
    Beginners: Register for a FREE No-Sweat Consultation OR FREE Community Class online.
    Experienced Athletes: Register for a drop-in online.
  2. LEARN: Join our private, one-on-one Fundamentals Course (Total of 11 Class: 6 introduction to CrossFit basics private classes PLUS 5-Class Punch Card for regular group CrossFit classes) to introduce you to CrossFit at only $199. We’ll teach you the movements and help you acclimate to the program.
  3. PERFORM: You’ve waited long enough – try out your first class! Stay dedicated, come often and get involved with the community.


Wait! Comeback… I have so many questions!


I’ve never done this before, Are you sure I can do this?

You will start slowly, 1-on-1 with a coach. We will keep the weights low and the movements simple. As you get stronger, the coaches will help you progress in weight and skills. Our members range in age from 16 to 74, and the workouts are always adjusted to YOUR level of fitness.

We do have options for you if you want to avoid doing weights altogether. Book your intro session and we will go through them with you.

But seriously, I’m really out of shape…I’m going to be the slowest person in your class! Are you sure?

Your fitness level does not determine your success at CrossFit Basinview.

The most of our members started with no skills at all, and worked every day to get better. Over time, they are doing things they never dreamed possible…seriously.

You will finish last sometimes, but the sooner you realize that nobody cares and everyone is here to make you better, the faster you will get fit.

I have/had an injury. Can I still join CrossFit?

Many of our members have used CrossFit training to rehabilitate their injuries. As humans, we are constantly in motion regardless of any existing injuries. We believe that learning the best and safest forms of functional movements, while gaining strength in these movements, as opposed to avoiding them altogether will lead you to long-term health.

Our coaches are always happy to work with you to work around your injuries by scaling or substituting exercises.

That being said, we are not doctors and don’t pretend to be.
 Please check with your doctor about your injuries or medical conditions before undertaking CrossFit, or any other, exercise program.

What do I need to bring?

You only need yourself! Come in with your workout clothes (shirt, shorts, and sneakers), and a bottle of water; we’ll provide the rest.

What is the Crossfit Basinview class experience like?

When you become a CrossFit Basinview athlete, this is how your experience will look:

You’ll find our box (CrossFit gyms are commonly referred to as “the box”) easily in Bedford on Hammonds Plains Road. You’ll be able to park your car for free in our lot. When you walk in to our box, you’ll be greeted with a smile by your coach and other athletes.

Over the next 60 minutes, you will be warmed up, stretched, and coached through the movements of the day.

This is followed by a workout and a wrap up. Your coach will be there to ensure proper form, range of motion, and intensity, helping you scale to fit your needs and ability level.

You’ll wrap up with some mobility and say goodbye to your friends and training partners feeling exhausted but accomplished for finishing another tough workout.

You’ll go home having done something you never thought you could, and feeling better than when you come in.
